About Cavan-Monaghan LEADER
Cavan-Monaghan LEADER is a joint venture between Breffni Integrated Limited and Monaghan Integrated Development Limited for the delivery of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 in the Cavan-Monaghan region. CML was established in 2008 and is the primary rural development organisation in the region.In 2009 the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Éamon Ó Cuív announced the LEADER funding allocations under Axes 3 and 4 of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013. Under this allocation Cavan-Monaghan LEADER is to receive €12,035,118.00 to support and facilitate the continued development of rural communities in the Cavan-Monaghan region. Cavan-Monaghan LEADER also administers the Rural Social Scheme (RSS) and is involved in accessing other National and EU programmes for the benefit of the communities of the Cavan-Monaghan region. The RSS aims to provide income support for farmers who are currently in receipt of long term social welfare payments, and to provide rural communities with services that will enhance the social, physical, natural and cultural resources of their locality.
Cavan-Monaghan LEADER (CML) staff report to the CML Committee who are made up of Board Members of both Breffni Integrated Limited and Monaghan Integrated Development Limited. CML is located in the Agricultural College, Ballyhaise, County Cavan.
